Reading Books

This week we have started Reading!  We have been so excited to take our reading books home to read to our families.  Please remember to send book bags everyday so your child can return the book they have read and get a new one.

Our New Stage

Check out our amazing new stage!  We are enjoying using it in the morning and during Explore time.  Jack, Ezra, Isalei and Trinity were having a great time using the puppets to make up a fun play.

Swimming

We are having so much fun swimming in the school pool!! We are learning all about how to be safe in the water and how to swim using the flutterboards to help us. 

The teachers are so impressed with how keen we all are to get in the pool and give learning new water skills a go!

Must Do's and Can Do's

This week we are learning all the different activities we can do when our group is not working at the table with a teacher during Reading and Maths time. We are learning about the things we MUST DO and then the things we CAN DO once we have finished. We are having lots of fun learning all the new activities! 

Poetry

Every Friday we do Poetry in class. We go through the poem with the teachers and highlight the letter we are working on. We then work carefully to draw a picture to match the poem and put it in our bookbag to take home for the weekend.

We were so proud of our work today so we would love it if you could read the poem with us over the weekend! :)

Shape Hunt!

We are having so much fun learning about shapes at school. Today we learned how to use tally marks and went on a shape hunt around the playground. We searched everywhere for circles, triangles, hexagons, rectangles, ovals and pentagons. We talked about the number of sides each shape has and what they looked like. We found so many shapes today!!
